TerraCarta BV

project for Deutsche Bahn

Following the success of previous pilot projects, TerraCarta is proud to have completed its first commercial assignment for Deutsche Bahn. This project marks an important step in our international growth and demonstrates our flexibility in adapting our work methods to new infrastructure systems and safety protocols. An interesting challenge within this project was the difference between the systems and work methods of Deutsche Bahn and ProRail. Management data, safety regulations, and the civil engineering design of the track differ significantly. As a result, it was necessary to adapt our processes and methodologies and develop a new approach specifically tailored to Deutsche Bahn’s requirements.

Innovative techniques for

Utility survey

During this project, both underground and aboveground infrastructure was accurately mapped. Ground-penetrating radar was used to map cables and pipes, while above-ground objects were surveyed and linked using radio detection. This combination of techniques ensures a detailed overview of the underground and above-ground conditions.

The collected data is currently being analyzed and processed. Once this process is complete, all findings will be surveyed and, if necessary, physically excavated to verify the results.

Working Safely Indoors

the services provided

A unique aspect of this project was that the work was carried out during regular train service. Two safety officers were assigned to each field crew to ensure safety on and around the tracks. These officers continuously monitored both directions of the tracks and were in direct contact with train dispatch. This meticulous approach ensured that the work was carried out safely without disrupting train service.
