Land surveying:

Land surveying is an essential part of TerraCarta’s services. Everything we locate, such as cables and pipes, is accurately surveyed and recorded. In addition to underground infrastructure, we also measure above-ground objects, such as appurtenances, trees, containers, fences, inspection pits, lampposts and street gullies. Using advanced land surveying techniques, we digitally map everything within the project area, providing a complete overview of both the underground and above-ground situation.

When cables and pipes are detected with detection equipment, the exact locations are digitally recorded with surveying precision. This can be done, for example, by marking a cable at ground level and measuring these markings with sophisticated equipment. In addition, ground radar measurement turns are also carefully recorded, with start and end points digitally recorded. All collected data are then read into our processing programs and carefully analyzed so that they are available at the coordinate level for further interpretation.

When trial trenches are dug, everything around the trench is accurately documented and digitally measured. Detection equipment is used to obtain additional information, such as extending the trench if something is detected further down the road or moving the trench based on new findings. Everything is accurately recorded, including the location of the trench and all objects within the trench. This data is combined with photographs of conditions on site.

TerraCarta continues to innovate continuously. Our equipment is set up to digitally record all position data from measurements, such as depth and accuracy. Our radio detection equipment can even be interfaced with GPS, providing more efficient and accurate recording of all detection parameters.
